This label is used to describe individuals whose sexual attraction changes over time. Far from being a fixed point, abrosexuality embodies the fluidity of who a person might find themselves attracted to, based on shifting sentiments rather than fixed categories.

People who identify as abrosexual often experience varying attractions. For instance, Kel, a 19-year-old, finds her attractions shifting so much that at one moment, feeling only drawn to women, to later finding herself interested in men. She uses her own experiences to highlight how abrosexuality distinctly differs from bisexuality or pansexuality, as her sexual identity feels more transient.
Similarly, Zach, 31, shared how adopting this label helped him make sense of his changing attractions. He realized that traditional labels didn’t quite capture his experience where sometimes he felt no attraction at all, aligning more closely with abrosexuality’s fluid nature.
